News Bulletin on progress dated 3/20/2006:

1) Future show installations/exhibits:
Please note that all sculptures will need to be taken down by early May 2006 from the Farmingdale University exhibition with the 10-12 pieces that were shrunk down due to the state changes. The good news is that I am working on 2 new libraries with one that is very close to Farmingdale State University to make our schlepping more convenient even if the exhibit dates do not line up. The second Library is north, however only 6-8 outdoor spaces are available. Also, We have had positive feed from The New South Huntington Library "Read My LIPSS" exhibit and I believe we are invited back for a new summer show. So we could have quite a saturation of sculpture exhibits this year....We can use help in setting these exhibits up.........help!!!!

2) Concept of rental:
I formulated a rental concept that I can further explain at an upcoming meeting in April to be set up soon) What I can tell you is that it is a great way to get your work out there and collect a small fee with the option to buy. For example, if a sculpture sells for $5000.00, divide by 50 months and that will equal $ 100 per month. Half of that or $50 will go towards the option of buying. Rentals offers a win-win for both the sculptor and the lender. No major commitment on either party. I suggest you try it on some of your collectors or friends who support you. Stay away from sticky contracts and red tape. Remember it beats your work sitting out for free at a show or worse the closet/storage..........Feedback????

3) The website WWW.LIPSS.NET
Cat Foley, our webmaster did a beautiful job in getting us off to a great start along with Kelly Diaz in designing, building and maintaining the website for 2004-2006 which we realize now that they were overworked and underpaid. This year they both became fulltime in there work and could not dedicate extra free time to load the "Read My Lipss" exhibit so better late than never; we are getting help outside through Linda Elber and her connection with student Brian Morales, a talented F.I.T. student. Cat and Kelly will still be interfacing with the upgrades on the Web and we need to keep it going. The best way to do this is by all of us who are in the "Read My Lipss" exhibit 2005, send Cat Foley a check for $30.00 to help pay for putting the "Read My Lipss" exhibit on the website. She will in turn pay Brian M. The Website looks really great so far! If you want to see what it looks like click above and see the 2004 Touro Exhibit- "Summer Tulips". Please Respond by mailing a check payable to:
